2023 Annual UFE Report - Joe Lara <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">UFE (unaccounted for energy) is defined as the variance between generation and load losses, with sources including generation measurement errors, transmission, distribution, and load errors, and theft.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The 2023 Annual UFE Report included total UFE in megawatt hours and cost, percentage to ERCOT load, and factors contributing to UFE.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">2023 showed negative 1,078,199 total UFE, cost of $92 million, with a significant negative UFE during winter and mid-summer.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The report discussed the impact of non-metered accounts contributing to UFE, and the reasons for large negative UFE in January and February.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">It was mentioned that state estimator data for transmission losses would help improve UFE calculations and would begin in Q3 of 2024.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The presentation also covered historical yearly values, transmission loss factor calculations, forecasted transmission losses for 2024 and 2025, and NPR1145 for the use of state estimates for TLFs in settlement calculations.</li> </ul> <a href="https://dash3.gridmonitor.com/sharing/?token=2a5958c0-c58d-4bcf-82db-fa4e39d9d348">6</a> - Resource Cost Working Group - RCWG - Blake Holt <ul> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">Kiran Sidhu has switched employment from E360 power to RWE Renewables and is still interested in helping out in leadership.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">ERCOT gave an overview of the sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxide emission price, stating that the prices for these products have not changed since 2020 ($2 a short ton for SO2, $3 a short ton for NOx).</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">ERCOT's suggestion is to remove the current subscription service and move forward with hard coded values for the emission prices, holding onto them until new EPA requirements come out, the market becomes more liquid, or TAC directs them to.</li> <li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1">The Resource Cost Working Group (RCWG) expressed interest in reviewing and coming up with other suggestions, planning to meet again on June 25 to continue the discussion.</li> </ul> 7 -
