<ul>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Chris Coleman presented a winter weather outlook for the upcoming 2024-2025 season.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Winter 2024 is expected to have above normal temperatures with potential extreme cold events.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Past winters have shown an increasing frequency of extreme cold events in Texas despite generally mild winters.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Analysis shows a warm trend for 2024 thus far with October being the warmest on record for Texas.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Despite being warm, 2024 featured unusual weather with above-normal rainfall during a hot summer.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Extreme cold temperatures have been more frequent in recent winters, with thresholds met in five of the last eight winters.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">An analog comparison points to a possible pattern similar to the winter of 2020-2021 (Uri event).</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Forecast indicates above normal temperatures but highlights a greater than average chance for extreme cold periods.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">The precipitation outlook suggests a dry winter, with 90% of historical analogs pointing towards below-normal precipitation.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Concerns were raised about how warm shoulder months affect generators' maintenance schedules. Adjustments are made when conditions become tight during these periods.</span></li>
<li style="font-weight: 400;" aria-level="1"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Two advanced action notices were issued to manage generator outages during unseasonably warm conditions in fall.</span></li>
